We (Hilary Rash, Deb Bye and Wendy Chapellow) got to Prince Edward Island on the 10th Sept and then all hell broke loose on the 11th when the Twin Towers went down in New York. Quite a lot of people were not able to get through to the island and missed the reunion. Two of our reps were actually in a plane on the tarmac in New York when it happened. They eventually arrived on the morning of the last day. Several New Zealanders were also held up but the PEI folk put on extra tours for them.
The reunion itself was brilliant. We had tours everyday visiting Green Gables, the Island Preserve Company and other interesting places. We hired a car (which we decided was too dangerous for the locals – with us driving on the wrong side of the road!) but it was fun and it was a cool car.
